There is a defined crisis with opiates today. To many overdoses and death. The flavor of the day is suboxone maintenance.  Suboxone is an addictive substance and can help with cravings and modify the opioid receptors.

Here are a few downsides of Suboxone when used as treatment:

  • Person can sell or trade it for opiates.

  • Person can take a larger dose of the opiates that overrides the opiod receptor and gives the "high" to the user

  • Person chose to get high from abusing suboxone and get the euphoric effect

  • Finally, should an individual want to no longer take the addictive substance suboxone the protracted withdrawal can take several weeks and up to a month.

How far does your money go? What happens when it runs out?

Major corporations that have entered the addiction treatment field and are driven by the profit motive. It’s just a business.  You enter treatment and use the insurance for no more than 7 to 10 days.  Private insurance typically does not authorize 28 days of treatment at the large treatment centers and they come with huge deductibles up to $6000.00. The client is moved along or you may be required to put down a hefty deposit at the time of admission.

At Phoenix Recovery Center we do not have this problem. We have no difficulty getting a full 28 days of treatment with insurance and with little or no out of pocket expense. Studies have shown the longer you stay in treatment the greater the chance of on-going sobriety.
